Uni Project - Games Jam - Shape Blaster

The visual design for Shape Blaster came out of a need to create assets quickley on my own without worrying about textures too much. The 'Tron' approach gave a consistant sci-fi theme whilst also simplifying the asset creation process. As I'm by no means a programmer, the game mechanics had to be simple enough to create so were designed to ultilise a technique I had learnt to create splines within Unity and send objects along them. Although this method worked wonders for getting the game complete, the gameplay lacked to randomness of other rail shooters and would be changed fo future projects.

I really wanted the players to understand what they had to do with the different shapes. For this reason the enemy ships were all styled to the corresponding shape the player had to use, and also matched colours. The shapes used also synced up with a playstation controller which was used to play the game.
